E_COMPILE_ERROR with Blocksy theme

    Hello folks,

    I’ve got an issue with my website recently with the very known E_COMPILE_ERROR. Apparently it’s comming from Blocksy but I can’t find anything about it on Internet.

    Here is the informations I got :

    WordPress version 6.4.2
    Thème actif?: Blocksy (version 2.0.7)
    Extension actuelle?:? (version )
    PHP version 7.4.33

    An type error E_COMPILE_ERROR has occured on line 120 of file /home/edenecq/www/wp-content/themes/blocksy/inc/helpers.php. Error message : Cannot redeclare blocksy_default_akg() (previously declared in /home/edenecq/www/wp-content/plugins/blocksy-companion/framework/helpers/blocksy-integration.php:123)

    Can you please help me people? Thanks !

  • Update your Blocksy Companion plugin (as well as the Blocksy theme itself). It’s the version of the plugin you’re running that’s causing the error.

    If you’re unable to access the WordPress dashboard to update these addons, use FTP or the File Manager from your hosting control to access your WordPress files and either delete or rename their folders.

    /wp-content/themes/blocksy
    /wp-content/plugins/blocksy-companion

    This will allow you to access the dashboard to install the latest versions of the Blocksy theme and companion plugin.

    Thank you for your reply, WordPress is sending me links to the debug mod every 24h (idk why I still don’t have it this time but I bet another one will come soon). I’ll try that asap, thank you !

    Ok everything’s good it worked. I had to change my theme for twentytwenty, then desactivate Blocksy companion, then update Blocksy, then change my theme for Blocksy, then activate Blocksy companion. Thanks a lot !

    Thanks for the update @nifari. I ran into the same issue and will try your approach. Any other advice for me on fixing the Blocksy issue?
