I have tried to do a search on this topic and I am not sure what to do. Looks like the auto uploader failed to update correctly.

I contacted my hosting (hostinger) and they suggested deleting the plug in (which I am concerned I will loose my entire shop…and all that work)

I updated all the other wordpress, plugins and themes to the lastest versions.

I am unable to auto update my woocommerce plug in. my shop is now in maintenance mode and the site is accessable – other than the shop. I dont know how to proceed to get the shop working again without loosing all my content.

    Please help.

  • If you delete the plugin’s files using FTP of File Manager, and then reinstall it, you won’t lose your settings or data. If you’re not comfortable with this, download and extract a fresh copy of the plugin, delete the files from the server, and then upload the fresh files via FTP or File Manager again.

If you use File Manager, you can upload the zip archive and extract the files on the server.

    Hi @sarahskinner

I understand taht you are receiving the error message above.

E_COMPILE_ERROR is caused by a missing file. Either the file is really out of place or your server lacks the resources to call it.

As suggested by @galbaras, try doing a manual update via FTP.

I tried my best to follow your instructions. It looks like something has messed up the shop… one category is not displaying correctly now…
