• I don’t know whether someone is trying to hack my WP account, but for the 2nd time in almost as many days, I have received 3 e-mails from “[email protected]” with a link to click if I want to reset my password. The e-mails are identical except for the code in the link to reset my pw.

So I went to www.remarpro.com and attempted to log into my account. I was unsuccessful; none of the passwords I have recorded for various WP accounts would work, so I clicked the link to reset my password.
I then received an identical (except for the code in the link) e-mail from WP, but this time I did click the link to reset my pw (because I had initiated the request).

I did not request the previous requests to reset my pw.

Is someone really trying to hack my WP account? I can’t imagine why, unless someone thinks it’s cool to post entries to someone else’s blog.

  • Your not on your own there, I have received 6 requests in the last 4 hours and about 10 or more yesterday.

Some one or something out there is having a good dig around I think.

Unfortunately, WP does not “do e-mail support”. They advise to post here, so let’s see if anyone from WP Admin finds this thread.

If you asked help from WordPress.com, they only provide support for sites hosted at WordPress.com (not for self-hosted sites). Since your site is self-hosted (and not hosted at WordPress.com), this is the correct forum for any questions relating to the WordPress software. If you have questions specific to your web hosting, please contact your web hosting provider.

If you don’t know who your web hosting provider is, please enter your website address here to find out:

    Hope that helps!

    Honey Silvas,

Thanks for your input, but this does not relate to my site, it relates the the password to this forum, 2 completely different things.

I ran reset password yesterday myself and for the moment it has stopped sending me the emails, perhaps it is just a glitch in WordPress, perhaps it is something else, I suppose that is what runner2014 & I are talking about.

    Bam Bam

Ah, OK. I thought it was about his WordPress site.
