E-commerce without limits, but not for everyone

  • WooCommerce is great for E-Commerce. You can do and create almost everything. There are only few limits.

    However, I would not recommend WooCommerce regarding cases as follows:
    (1) If you do not have technological know-how regarding webdesign: Basic understanding of HTML; CSS is a must; Basic understanding of php. In some setups WooCommerce will literally not work with at least some custom snippets!
    (2) In case you do not have such a know how one cannot learn it.
    (3) If (1) and (2) are not the case you need sufficent funds for developers, webdesigners etc. In such a case, an optimized shop might become very expensive. In this case I would recommend Shopify.

    One other weakness of WordPress/WooCommerce is the lack of robustness and performance. Though, many other e-commerce-systems have similar issues even the so-called “enterprise-e-commerce-systems”.
