So, the slider is working well. But the dynamic slider is not updating after a post has been published. Inside the EDIT area, I see the latest post’s feature image on the canvas. But in the actual slider, content is not new.

I imagine I could probably click on clear cache manually and it will update itself. If so, is there a way not to use cache then? We are already running W3 Total. Maybe that also is another issue?

    Hi @mealto!

Our slider refreshes the content after the given “Cache expiration” time, so what you see here at step 4.:

If that time has passed and that is when you see the problem, then W3 Total Cache will be the issue, because probably it is caching your website by saving down the html content and loads only that, meaning our code doesn’t load anymore, only W3 Total Cache’s. If it’s possible, then you could try to make an automatic cache refreshing in W3 Total Cache to create new cache from your website and then you should see the updated content.

ok, I just found that setting. It looks like the Cache button is Grey. When I click on Hours, it lights up. Does that mean it wasn’t even caching the slider? If so, then this may be a W3 Total Cache conflict.

When I make site changes, I would use W3 Total to purge all cache. Then clear browser cache and refresh the page. The other elements would update but not the slider. This is odd indeed.

I will have to keep testing to see where the problem is.

    Hi @mealto

All dynamic generators are working from cache, you can’t avoid that. You can specify the time when this cache expires at the Generator settings, which you found. (The blue color you can see when you try to change the cache time is just indicating the field you are currently editing.)

W3 Total cache and other cache plugins are capable to clear their own cache, so they don’t have effect on ours. Since you are using a cache plugin, you could set the cache expiration time at your generator to 0 hours. Since your cache plugin will only display static HTML codes you won’t have problems with the speed and when you clear the cache at W3TC the slider will create new cache files for itself the first time your site is loaded without cache, making your changes show up immediately.

Thanks. I will have to try editing the generator to set cache to 0 hours and see if this resolves the issue. Appreciate your help on this, thanks!
