Dynamic header content and admin section for theme

  • I am working on a theme that i would like to sell on themeforest.com

    It is my first attempt at something like this so excuse my lack of knowledge regarding this.

    I would like my header to grab info from some posts from a certain category. You may understand it alot more if you have a look here (https://www.furtzdesigns.com/multitheme/)

    Also, I have notcied that the default wordpress theme, when activated adds a tab in the wordpress admin section that allows you to customise the appearance. I would love to know how this is done, if anyone has an article or something like that it would be MUCH appreciated.
