Complete “newbie”, so some forgivness & patience may be required !

Using Dyad-2. JetPack is installed. Created 3 posts with images. Images rotate in (after the delay) and the left & right “move next” arrows work; fine so far, but my posts don’t show – all I get is “Nothing Found”. It was working yesterday morning.

I’ve changed the tags & Categories numerous times. The site is still “temp” and has never been “live”.

I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found anything like the above, so if this has been covered, I apologize.

    Any guidance is appreciated, Thanks.

Hi there. Have you published those posts yet on the site or are they still in a draft or marked private?

If they are in the published state, they should be showing up on the front end of the site.

You have a “Coming Soon!” holding page on the link you have provided.

Haven’t gone “live” I’m still “temp”. Have “Published” the posts, they are “Public” and not “drafts”.

Also, “Ready to publish your first post? Get started here.” is below the “Nothing Found”.

Interesting, if you have any pages created are you able to see those on the front end? If you haven’t created a page yet, can you create one and see if you’re able to view it on the front end of the site?

Before we continue jarret, thanks for your time and efforts.

Yes, I’ve created a page with blocks and an Image w/Caption and it all shows. I View my site from the Dashboard, and again it’s “temp” and not “live”.

Originally I tried “Construction Lite” and couldn’t make it work. I then bounced around between Dyad & Dyad-2. Couldn’t make the Dyads work (Featured panel) until with some digging, found out about JetPack and it worked. However, at this point I’m not sure if it was Dyad-1 or 2.

“Construction Lite” required a slider (and was put in). Could there be something strange going on with tabs and/or categories ? Does switching from 1 Theme to another require the deletion of all previous tabs, categories, widgets, etc. ?

If I can get this going, all I’ll have to do (hopefully) is resize/optimize my images & start creating some “blocks” (most of which I’ve wrote & will be “pasted” in).

Have 3 Posts but “Nothing Found” displays.

Have “Published” the posts, they are “Public” and not “drafts”.

    Hi there,

Does the number of published posts exceed the number of featured posts?

If it doesn’t, please try publishing some additional posts – but do not make them featured – then see if they appear.

    (@gw22)

    No. Have just 4 posts.

Added a test post with no tags and it shows.

    (@gw22)

Added a 2nd test post and it shows above the first: i.e. Dashboard–>view site, the 2nd post is above the first, both show.

When in the “Add New Post”, “Publish” (Public only) then using the “Preview” the same occurs only the previous (1st Test) Post is marked as “Previous”, clicking on it gets the 1st Test Post, then a “real” post is “Previous”, click that and it works, click again, works again, etc.

    Edited: overlapping replies

There needs to be more posts published on the site than there are featured posts.

By default, featured posts are removed from the the normal content area (the loop) to prevent them from appearing twice on the same blog index page – they will only appear in the slider, not below it.

So if you have 4 featured posts, and no others, then there are no other posts to display beneath the featured area – which results in the “Nothing Found” message.

Alternatively, if you’d like the same posts to appear in both areas, please navigate to Customize > Featured Content, then enable “Also display tagged posts outside the Featured Content area.”

Thanks Gary, but with only 3 featured posts, the picture rotation worked AND the featured 3 posts (with images) showed below, I just though the pictures were too big (found browsersize.com) and wanted them to lineup 3 across (like Dyad-1 shows).

I added the 4th “Featured” post last night and still got the “Nothing Found” and want (at least 4) “sticky” “featured” posts on the front.

It’s really frustrating, I had it working and did something stupid. I wonder if an old piece of “Construction” or the Dyads or another theme is screwing things up ?

Is it possible to temporarily make the site visible to us?

It’s difficult to understand and troubleshoot the issue blindfolded.

If we can see the problem, this should be relatively straightforward to deal with.

    (@gw22)

How can (do) I make the temp post available ? Also, can I then remove it from being “live” ? (I’m not ready nor do I want to go live at this time).

    Gary Barrett

    (@gary-barrett)

I’m not familiar with your hosting company, Bluehost, but they appear to have an option to enable and disable their coming soon page in Settings > General > (scroll down) Bluehost Coming Soon page.

That can be disabled so we can see the site, then enabled once the issue is resolved.

Also, can you clarify where the “nothing found” message is appearing – is it on the home page or is it on each individual post?
