• Hi,

Happy to be at wp.org – finally, and thanks for any help you can offer.

I just did an import from my wp.com site. During the import, most of the attachment files, all pics, made it OK, but some failed yielding the error – Remote server did not respond

I have a list of the ones that failed, but I’m not sure how to go back and re-import just those attachments. I tried editing the .xml file to get rid of all the <item>s but the ones that failed, and tried running the import again; WP just skips them all.

I can go upload the images manually I suppose but there’s a lot of them. Any ideas how I get the system to import just the ones I missed?

    Cheers,
    Maggie

I started all over from scratch and jacked up the max_execution_time in the php.ini file to 500 seconds. After the new import, I had less than 20 that I had to redo manually. That certainly is manageable.

    I’m all good now.
    Cheers,
    Maggie
