Hello! Suppose I enrolled a student for 6 months in the course “A”, and after 1 day he bought a product “B” from me for a period of 2 months, which included the course “A”. In this case, will the enrollment be added in time to the existing one, or will it be overwritten and become 2 months? In theory, a student should receive 6 + 2 = 8 months

  • Hi @dima852

If a user is already enrolled in course A, their enrollment will remain the initial purchase plan. For example, if course A was purchased as a 2 month plan, then the student purchases a produce that includes course A, their enrollment will still be on the 2 month plan that they were originally enrolled with.

This doesn’t get overwritten with the new plan or added to.

Thanks for the answer. Is it possible to increase the enrollment period? For example, there were 2 months, the student bought 6 more months and it became 8 months. Maybe there is some ready-made snippet?

    Hi @dima852

You could do this in the original order. If you head into the order, on the right hand side you will see the ability to change the expiration date. You can update this to accommodate the additional 6 months from there.

Does this mean I have to do it manually? Is there no automatic method?

    Hi @dima852

Correct, there is no automatic method at this time.

Hello! I’m using the woo extension to accept payments. I want to understand how the access is extended for students who have completed their enrollment period. Is this process described somewhere? Can a student renew access in advance manually? And where can he see how much access time he has left on the course?

    Hi @dima852

To extend access you can change the enrollment status in the order. On the order page, under the initial user information you will see the product list. On the product list you will have to option to set the user back to enrolled.

Alternatively, you can also update the order status itself back to active, and push out the final payment period to the extended date. The active status will set the user back to enrolled, and the final payment date will set when the access will end in the future.

Yes, It’s clear. But it looks like something unfinished… There is not enough automation for this process. For example, a student wants to renew access to a course in advance. Can’t he do it automatically? If he buys my course again, then his enrollment period will not change…
Can you tell me what needs to be changed in the code so that the enrollment period is added (summed up) to the existing one? It would be fair and logical

    Hi @dima852

If the user has already been unenrolled from the course and want to register again they can.

It is just if they are still enrolled in the course and try to enroll again there is not a way to override the original enrollment trigger at this time.

This upgrade/extension feature is something on our development team’s radar for future development, but at this time for a user to extend access it can either be done manually, or after they’ve already been unenrolled.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
