Having an unexpected exp with Duplicator this time. I am getting a “…is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500”.

Initially, I had noticed that because of the file permission set for wp-confog.php file, it was not being updated. Went ahead and set the correct file permission and post that, the file was correctly being updated. On the front-end, there was no change.

Some background, my site was close to 2GB so I had just downloaded the installer.php and the archive and moved them to my root directory via FileZilla. I also zipped up the rest of the wordpress files from my old webhost’s root and moved them over to my new server by FileZilla and then unpacked them via SSH. I am not on CPanel but on AWS LightSail.

After first failure, I manually deleted all the wp files from the new server and unarchived the new files there once again. Ran through the 3 steps successfully by going to mydomain/installer.php. On Page 4, no warning or error but the site wont open!
    Help.

  • Hi Rajiv,

I see you have also posted on the help ticket system. I went ahead and answered there, I would like to close this thread just so we don’t get a double entry for the same issue…

    Thanks

Sadly, the answer was not to the point. I was suggested something for a blank screen error whereas I was getting an HTTP 500.

But I used something else & was able to do my job so I think it’s great.

    Thanks for your help.

No Problem. Thanks for the update.
