Discovered well over 200 products in my Facebook store all saying (Copy). This happens every time I duplicate a product to create a new one. After duplication the product (Copy) is unpublished but has indeed been synced to Facebook. I had to delete my entire catalog and resync to fix the mess.

Is there any support whatsoever for this plugin?

    Hi @mitchellk,

Sorry it’s taken a bit to get back to you. It sounds like the product that is being duplicated is synced to Facebook. So when duplicated, the new product is already set to be synced.

If you will be duplicating more products, using one as a template, I would recommend making sure that template product isn’t synced to Facebook. Then, duplicate of that product will not be automatically synced.

Hi Mike, @mikedmoore this is most undesirable behaviour. Each product has 65 variations, 63 are set to sync and 2 are not as they are virtual and cannot be synced into the facebook stores.

So this would mean I first need to create a product with everything set to disabled sync, then create a new product and go manually through 63 variations enabling sync before publishing it?

It’s purely bad programming as it’s this plugin causing the problem. How can you sync a product that is a draft and not even published yet?

    My current workflow:
    – Disable this poorly coded plugin
    – Duplicate my product, edit it, apply new images, tags, description etc
    – Publish product
    – Enable plugin
    – Update product

My workflow works but it not how things should work, this plugin should just obey what “state” a product is in ie. “published” “draft” “pending review” etc etc. Pure and simply a bad piece of coding on this plugin.

    Hi @mitchellk,

Thank you for the additional details!

    I’ve reported this on GitHub:

    https://github.com/facebookincubator/facebook-for-woocommerce/issues/1803

Feel free to add further details or correct me if I misunderstood the issue.

We (Automattic) took over the support and development of this plugin in late 2020 and at this time, it’s hard to say when our developers will get the chance to fix this, but the progress can be tracked on GitHub.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
