Duplicates

  • hi,

    when an image is added to the media library and then inserted into two different posts, the filegallery shortcode lists this image twice. no matter where the shortcode is included.

    physically, the image is only present ONCE in the media library, but the fact that it has been “assigned” to two posts results in a duplication when the shortcode has been rendered.

    is there a setting or any way to prevent this duplicate issues?

    if you’re using WordPress 3.4.2 or earlier, there’s a setting on the media settings page that you can check: “Filter out duplicate attachments (copies) when browsing media library?”

    if you’re using WordPress 3.5 or above, it’ll be fixed soon.
