Duplicated Order Forced – Customer charged Twice

Getting some more info here should point us in the right direction. What payment gateway are you seeing this issue with? Is there anything unusual about the order notes of these orders? Any patterns you can see?

Hi again,

Sorry for the delay. Whenever I’ve seen this in the past, it’s been due to a misbehaving plugin; WooCommerce itself won’t create an order unless something tells it to. So here’s what I would do:

If you don’t want to test on your live site (I absolutely wouldn’t here since testing will take some time), then create a staging site using a plugin called WP Staging.
First, you’ll want to change the theme on your staging site to Storefront, then make some test purchases. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you. If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and keep testing. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one to see where the issue is coming from.
