    sometimes (not always), when i duplicated a post, the default language is changed, i use chinese as default language, when i duplicated a post that is defaulted in chinese language and sometimes the depulicated post changed to English as default language, which is quite random, is there a way i force a default language?

    Sorry to say there’s no way to force a default language. Have you tried performing a conflict check to see if the duplication works fine?

    i don’t think there is a conflict because it works 90% of the time with the same plugins are on. i will try to contact WPML support if there is nothing on your side can do

    can you help us in investigating the cause with some details?
    When did it start to happen?
    Can you link the first appearance of the issue with an update of Yoast Duplicate Post or WPML, and if yes from which version?

    it started from day one, i use this plugin on many website, however one of the website which contents thousand of posts got this problem (that’s why i feel it is a statistically problem), since other website don’t duplicate post that often.

    the site that has problem is a property agency, homeplus.hk/en/ which they duplicated at least 10-20 posts a week, and report randomly not all duplicated post follow the default language of the post that is copied from, i have made sure they only dupulicate the post under the default language.

    WPML is at the latest (always), while we haven’t tested on the latest Yoast duplicated post features which offer new draft.

    Thanks for your confirmation and for clarifying everything. Unfortunately, we are having a hard time to reproduce the issue on our end since the issue occurs on a random post. We recommend you please try reproducing the issue with a few exact steps to see if you can. Once you can share the exact steps so that we can try reproducing the issue again on our end.

    It is very hard to confirm and fix what’s exactly causing the issue when we are unable to reproduce it on our end. It could be an issue specific to the particular website as the issue even doesn’t occur on the other websites that you are managing.
