I was wondering why the tag <h1> is duplicated at the homepage in some posts. It does not make sense.

It cannot be hidden from the post summary (or excerpt). It should only show the h1 title ONCE and the summary, right?

I have checked Elementor settings and there’s no option to include OR exclude that.

How can I fix that? It may be affecting the on-page SEO of my website.

PS: I am not complaining about the size of the excerpt (which is fine), but the duplicated h1 tag together with it.

    Thank you!

  • Hi @douglasivanauskas,

    Thanks for writing in.

There are no duplicate h1 tags, the title is h3 and the summary is paragraph (p) tag, here are two screenshot one showing that the title is h3 and another showing that the summary/excerpt is p tag,
    For title: https://prnt.sc/2JPa7KeScISe
    For Excerpt: https://prnt.sc/b9tvPCaRKFY8

Let me know if the above information helps or not, and I will get back to you.

Thank you for the clarification @rohitkc32

That’s weird because as I usually do for ALL posts in Elementor, the structure is as follows: main title: h1 and the first paragraph which I assume is the is summary: text. See screenshots from the Elementor editor below.

    Title:

    Summary:

Could it be a conflict between the theme and Elementor? Is there a way to fix/change this?

I also use Yoast SEO which I have already deactivated but nothing changed.

By the way…which one is the h1 tag in the Homepage of the Colormag theme?

    Hi @douglasivanauskas ,

Using Elementor also, you can see that you have set the title of the posts to be H1 so it will be H1 and the second paragraph as you have displayed in the screenshot is a paragraph with <p> tag.

The theme and Elementor are not confliciting in this situation, as the contents are displaying the respective tags that you have assigned from Elementor.

    Hi again @rohitkc32

Ok, but how do I fix the duplicate title on my homepage? That’s the issue I am trying to solve here.

And which one is the h1 tag in the Homepage of the theme?

    Thank you for your understanding.

Firstly there are no <h1> tag in the homepage, the title of the posts is <h3> in the homepage. Also, each post title is <h3>.

And if you are referring to duplicate posts in homepage. We do have a premium feature to remove duplicate posts, which we are not allowed to discuss here.
