    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with WooCommerce and its hard for me to solve it, because I dont know from where is it.

The problem is: I have simple products, but also products with variations. When I am on the editing page of a product with variations and I click the “Update” button, whether or not I have changed something for this product, all the variations are duplicated for this product and if they were 12, they become 24. This process is repeating every time I click the “Update” button.

    The WooCommerce version is 3.4.5.

    Any suggestions?

That sounds like something is writing to your database when it should not. If you can I would backup your site fully and then update your WooCommerce. Afterwards you will be prompted to update the database as well which you must also apply.

Other than that you can always try to see if there is a conflict: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/troubleshooting-using-health-check/

If you create a product from scratch via Products >> Add product and then create one variation manually. Does this variation also duplicate when you update?

    Kind regards,

We have updated all of our plugins and the theme we are using now but the problem still persist.

I have created new product with few variations but this way, there is no problem for this product only.

Important: we imported all of our products via All Import and we noticed that the “parent” product SKU is the same as one of it`s variations. This is for most products that have variations.

    Any other suggestions?

Given the way you created these products, I’m thinking there might have been an error in the import process that may have caused this behavior. Specially since manually creating a product from scratch does not reproduce this behavior

I’m not familiar with how the All Import plugin works, so I can’t be sure what exactly went wrong. But, may I suggest the built-in CSV product importer that comes with WooCommerce out of the box? Perhaps you can use this tool to recreate the products correctly, hopefully without this error happening again.

If you are interested in exploring this tool, you can read documentation about it at the following link:
