    Hello!

I noticed that ever since I turned WordFence live on that I have duplicate URL’s appearing under searched not indexed in GSC, and every time Google crawls my site it duplicates the same post/page again in the GSC searched not indexed report with of course the prefix of /wordfence.com_ih. I am also completely and very noticeably down on Google impressions since the day I implemented WordFence live. I’ve read of others experiencing issues after implementing WordFence live. Could there be any chance that having these duplications in GSC is confusing to Google?

    Thanks!

Hello @missgypsea and thanks for reaching out to us!

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

I might be able to track down the source of the indexing error.

    Thanks!

Sent, with my user name included thank you!

Also, do you have a remedy for quick removal from GSC?

    Thanks for sending that! @missgypsea

Attempt to visit one of these links, it should populate a blank page. If it’s loading your homepage instead, this is what is causing google to index these since it is seeing content here.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks!

Hi there, I visited a link and it does in fact go to a blank page.

These appeared in my GSC when I had WordFence live turned on – I’ve since turned it off and since then I’ve not had another one of these links added to GSC.

I just can’t help but wonder if Google doesn’t really like these to be in GSC?

These are usually the steps with Google indexing:
    1) Wordfence is active on my site and I load the URL below

    my-site.com/?wordfence_lh=1&hid=123
A blank page is generated which is correct.

    2) If I now deactivate Wordfence and load the same URL then my home page is loaded which is also correct because the query string URL is now invalid because Wordfence is not active.
    ?
The only way Google can have indexed those URL’s was when you did have Wordfence installed and active and the Wordfence URL’s were generating your home page instead of a blank page. This was most likely your theme that was using template_redirect hooks incorrectly.

You can ask Google to remove query string URL’s using this guide below (not our guide):

    https://www.seerinteractive.com/labs/the-seo-starter-guide-to-google-search-console/using-url-parameters-in-webmaster-tools/

You might even be able to reach out to Google and see if the Webmaster tools have a way to prevent those strings from being added to the console. You could also ask your theme developer if they can resolve the hooks.

Let me know what you do find!

    Thanks!
