• I’ve recently noticed that my wordpress site is producing two links to pages that are then both indexed in the search engines.

    For example
My permalinks are set up as /%postname%
so that when I post an article called “My Example”
it creates a post with a url as required such as
    https://www.mywebsite/my-example

However, it also appears to be creating pages with the following URL structure with the same content
    https://www.mywebsite/page/24

Unfortunately in many cases it seems that the search engines are ranking the latter pages higher for searches (I found this out by looking for a specific string of text that only appeared on my site)
The /page/24 url showed up first followed by the “repeat the search with the omitted results included” message. My preferred link then showed up when I clicked that option.

    Hope this makes sense
