• Hey Team,

I’m seeing some duplicate google analytics transaction data using this Plugin’s enhanced e-commerce integration.

Curiously, the “duplicated” transaction only appeared some hours after the initial one was recorded. Yesterday it appeared correct but as of today now reports that there are two transactions (for the same item) when no such order was placed.

I’m at a bit of a loss as to why it would retroactively duplicate a transaction. I believe I am correct in my understanding that the tracking fires from ecommerce events and not checkout page views, so i’m particularly puzzled as to why this would be happening.

To set up this plugin i followed the instructions found here: https://gtm4wp.com/how-to-articles/how-to-setup-enhanced-ecommerce-tracking

With the only variance being I used the trigger string recommended in this article: https://marketlytics.com/blog/enhanced-ecommerce-tracking-woocommerce-gtm

I do not have any other instances of gtm/analytics live on the site. My tag assistant shows that everything is firing correctly.

I haven’t gotten the site owners to set up a cash on delivery option for me to test this and see if it causes more but that will be my next step.

In the mean time is there any idea as to what could be causing this or why this would be happening?

For context I have it set up with the default installation (<no-script> snippet in the footer.) with the following ecommerce settings enabled:
    Track Enhanced-ecommerce
    Products per impression 0
    Cart as 1st checkout step
    Cart Content in Data layer
    Include full category Path
    Customer data in data layer
    Order data in data layer
    exclude tax from revenue
    exclude shipping from revenue
    google ads remarketing.
