Sure! Honestly, you can do anything you want with your themes – it makes no difference to this plugin. This plugin just loads the theme you set. When you duplicate your theme, just make sure to change the theme folder name and the theme name in your style.css (so WordPress sees them as two different themes). That’s it!

I’ve come across the same issue. I have changed the theme folder name and theme name in my style.css but whenever i post something it goes to both the “device” theme and the regular website theme.

    Any suggestions?

when viewed on mobile device i have standard 2013 theme and computer is my custom theme. Why do they share the same information. its the same with my duplicate install. DO i need to make another database or something?

@arobertson88 – The themes will display what ever you tell them to. And yes, they pull from the same database – that’s the point. This plugin simply delivers the theme you want. It’s up to you to change the themes as you need to show the content you want. Many people use two different themes for this (often making the themes themselves) and for example, use code in the mobile theme to only load small-sized images, or to use the_excerpt() instead of the_content() in places.

    Thanks for the reply!

I am under the impression that if I go into my “mobile theme” and edit, the home page( scale down images, remove sliders, etc. those effects now take place on my “regular website theme” so im trying to get them seperated. My theme forest theme does have a child theme not sure if it has anything to do with it but I’m not getting any “theme not installed” errors. If I change a settings on mobile theme shouldn’t it stay only on that theme?

Yes, that’s correct. Make sure you have the correct theme’s setup in Appearance > Themes and Appearance > Device Themes. Sounds like you might have them backwards.

I have set my regular website under appearances > theme and set a test theme to appearances > device themes. If viewing on my mobile phone the theme switches but the information stays the same.

Loads 2013 WP theme on mobile device but has the same information . If I edit the homepage it shows on the computer and mobile

I would like to disable a plugin just for the handheld theme. I searched the web but couldn’t find an answer.
