    We are having a recurring issue where one person signs up and it shows twice. This has been happening for a number of months on and off. I’m not sure if this is similar to Contact Form 7, where heavy clickers sometimes submit the data twice.

    Additionally, the chair is not always receiving an email of the sign up. Her email is on a few of the sheets and is in addition to the global email in Settings.

    Any thoughts on what the issue may be?

    Looks like you are only using one shortcode on that page, so it’s difficult to think of what the issue could be with multiple sign ups. You can try checking the setting that says “Suppress Duplicate Output?”, if that’s not already checked. That was mostly to fix issues with using the shortcode more than once on the same page, but can also sometimes fix issues with themes that somehow process the shortcode more than once.

    The other possibility is that maybe users are using the browser back button to try to go back to the list of tasks, and then seeing the signup form again and then trying to reload the page?

    I have not had any other reports of an issue like that, and it’s not something I have experienced in any of my testing, so really hard to track down something like that unless it happened every single time someone signs up, and then you could test it yourself with some debugging/breakpoints in place to try to track down the issue.

    As far as the email issues go, you can search back through old threads here for email issues, as that seems to be a common thing. I also put a sticky thread on my own site for common email issues:

    Thanks for the quick response. I just notice the button had no hover or cursor/pointer, so I added it. I’m wondering if that was the duplicate issue, with people not thinking that anything was happening as they clicked.

    I’ll mark this as resolved for now, but feel free to post again if your changes didn’t fix the issue.

    You may also want to check to make sure that you are not using any caching plugin that is caching that page (disable caching on that page). If the users don’t see themselves in the list because it’s showing a cached version of the page before they signed up, they may be signing up again.

    Also, if you only want people to sign up once for a task, you can make sure the “Allow Duplicates” is un-checked for that task, and that would prevent duplicate signups for the same task.
