Duplicate post appends original post name and changes URL address

Hi there,

I can see this issue has been raised before but it seems to be happening again.

When I clone a post and then go to edit the cloned post title, it changes the live post and amends the URL with a -2.
I have tried adding a suffix in the duplicate settings but this doesn’t make any difference. The only way I have found around this is to immediately change the cloned posts URL before I then do any edits to the page.

Is this how it is supposed to work or is this a bug? I would have thought that by cloning the post it would attach the 2 to the URL which would then differentiate between the live and draft versions automatically?

I am running the latest version of WP and plugin is also up to date.
