Duplicate Pages; Best Parameter Handling in Google Webmaster for WordPress Site?
-
Hi,
I’m wondering if I could get some advice on setting “Parameter Handling” in Google Webmaster.
I’m getting some duplicate title tags being reported in webmaster and looking at the urls they all include ?page_id=
I then noticed the Parameter Handling option, which I wasn’t really aware of before.
In fact parameter handling lists a few “Found parameters: h src w zc page_id nocache cd cs da ds ref wd”
So I set page_id to ignore. I have set all the Found parameters to ignore. I hope I’m not telling Google to ignore something crucial?
To me, the parameters “cd” “cs” “da” “ds” all appear to be linked from an industry directory site my business is listed on. So I presume it does no harm to tell Google to ignore them?
“ref” and “src” I wasn’t so sure about setting to ignore…
Are there other parameters generated by WordPress I should tell google to ignore?
Thank you
Will
