    We are suddenly seeing duplicate orders again when a customer pays for their items using debit/credit card. I think this has also occurred with paypal before but not certain of this.

    So what happens, is the customer is seeing a “Error processing checkout. Please try again.” message which makes the customer obviously think the order hasn’t gone through – BUT it has indeed completed – so the customer reorders again and again.

    This problem has been happening on an off for us now over the past at least 5 years and is highly frustrating to say the least! It seems to resolve itself after a while but then will come back a year or so later…We have just had a customer place the same order 5 times!!

    Hi @chilliwax

    It sounds like you have a third-party plug-in triggering a PHP exception during the checkout process before the orders status can be updated.

    Navigate to the Woocommerce – Status – Logs page and see if there is a recent “fatal-errors” log file. Please share the contents of that log file.

    Hi @chilliwax

    Did you switch to a different Stripe plugin? I reviewed your site and you’re using the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugin. I’d like to confirm if you just switched or have always used that plugin and are confusing it with our plugin.
