Duplicate Module on Lesson create

    I have created a simple test course, with three modules and one or two lessons in each. Whenever I create a new lesson, selecting a linked course, all three Modules seem to lose their course link. (At the point of selecting the course within the lesson, I an’t select a module).

    I now need to go to each module and edit to select a course (again).

    i can now go to the new lesson and select the linked module.

    At this point I get a duplicate set of all three Modules, with the teacher name in brackets at the end of the module name.

    Does anyone know why this may be happening?

    I’m not quite clear what’s happening here. Would you be able to provide some screenshots, or perhaps a short screencast to show what’s happening?

    Can you also confirm that you’re using the latest version of Sensei LMS, and let us know whether you’re using the Classic Editor or the Block Editor?

    Thanks Dan. I can reproduce the problem – I did so on v3.7, upgraded to 3.8 and have the same thing. I am using the block editor (though not really creating content for lessons in this test).

    Same problem for me, strange appending of (Teacher) after module name using classic editor & WPBakery. WP 5.6.1 & Sensei 3.8.0
    Also encountering the problem of module not saving when assigning from dropdown box as another user has in another support thread here.

    Please note 3.8.1 update doesn’t fix this! Modules don’t save when creating or editing a lesson and then you go back to view the course in the admin panel and the modules have been duplicated, appended with the Teacher and added to the course automatically.
    Please look into this urgently, we are using your paid version.

    Same problem… Does any one have a fix for this?

    Whenever we add an instructor to a course and then organize the modules of that course, Sensei creates (dupes) the module and rewrites the slug with a different ID, replacing the module in that course for the new duped module.

    This is terrible!

    My apologies for the delay in responding!

    In regards to your original issue, it appears to be related to and has an upcoming fix, which you can see here:

    In addition, we do have a high priority issue open to fix the module reordering bug here:

    https://github.com/Automattic/sensei/issues/3891

    which will be the best place to check for updates and fixes to the issues.
