I recently added the Monster Insights plugin to upgrade my site to Google Analytics 4. Once I did that, my Ahrefs site health went from 98 to 93. Two of the biggest changes were duplicate meta descriptions and titles that are too long (based on what I’m seeing the titles include the section of the website they are in before the actual title).

From what I’m reading it seems like this has to do with the Global Site Tag Tracking Code in Monster Insights. Is there an easy way to turn this off? I’m not a IT/Technical person so would love “instructions for dummies” so I understand what to do. ??

    Thank you!

    Hi there,
The Global Site Tag is the name of the Google Analytics tag — it’s not possible to disable because its the actual analytics code.

That being said, it wouldn’t be causing the issue you are describing, as it’s unable (and our plugin is also unable) to change the titles or meta descriptions on your site.

Changing titles/meta descriptions can only be done by an SEO plugin. The SEO plugin that’s installed onto a site to add those is also the only thing that can adjust them.

It looks like you are using All in One SEO on your site. I would recommend reaching out to their team and they can help you with that.

I can actually see the exact issue, there’s two metas for description.

It looks like one of them is being added by All In One SEO, and the second one might be coming from Yoast SEO (I think, but its output is unlabeled)

The All in One Support team should be able to help you figure out where that second set is coming from and how to remove it

Hey Chris you were spot on, I think the All In One SEO might have automatically installed with another plugin (if that’s a thing), I have no recollection of installing it. Once I deactivated it all was good again – thanks for the quick response!
