Duplicate Meta Descriptions

same happening with mine site https://hqtips.com.is their anyway to add different meta description on tags and on categories.

i stevpetersonn, I think I may have found the issue, although I’m not certain because I am not at all tech knowledgeable, there is a setting in the All In One SEO Advanced Settings that had the Autogenerate Descriptions checked, I’m not sure if it was checked before the plugin update. I’ve removed the check mark and I’ve searched the source code and can’t find the duplicate description so I believe it’s now corrected. I’m sure it will take some time before Google Webmaster Tools removes it from the HTML suggestions. You may want to check your settings just in case it added the capability with the update like it did for me.

If anyone more knowledge could way in, I would be most grateful.

I haven’t upgraded to the latest version yet – I’d like to know first if it is safe to do so as it seems that there have been some problems.

However, I found to my surprise that Google found a duplicate meta description on my blog page – the first blog page and blog page 4. The only thing I did was to write a brief description in the ALLIOSEO in the description field on the blog page itself. I have now deleted it.
I would be grateful for an explanation on what one should do or not do in such a case.
