    Thanks for providing this plugin.

I’m seeing some unexpected behaviour. Mautic is generating multiple contact records with the same IP. Also – when a contact submits a form and becomes known the previous tracking record (with the same IP) is not merged into the new known contact. I understood that this is what Mautic is supposed to do.

I have tracking through the plugin set for the footer of the page – could this be causing multiple duplicate IP entries? and the failure to merge into one?

    Thanks for any advice

    Hello !

Have you enabled the fingerprinting in your Mautic instance ? Mautic may not use only the IP address to consider the contact is the same. It must check the browser/device used, maybe it’s in that kind of settings that you must look ?

A contact is tracked and considered the same person inside a navigation session. If you leave that session, you’ll be considered a new person (when tracking anonymous persons).

    Hi

Thanks for the info. You were right. In fact most of the tracking options were disabled by default. I’ve enabled them and now things are working as expected.

Strange that these settings in Mautic are disabled by default. Perhaps it’s a GDPR consideration?

Yes, this seems related to GDPR compliance.
