Duplicate Images in Media Library

    I have many duplicate images in my media library with the exact same filename and size. Is this due to this plugin? Is there a reason for this or a way to remove the duplicate images? I have backup originals set to delete every 50 days but the duplicates go back farther than that. I also deleted all backups, but the duplicates remain. Any insight into where these are coming from and why they are there would be helpful.

  • @lyeffeth You can try deleting the duplicate unused images from WP-Optimize > Images > Unused images.

    You’ll have to run conflict test, bu disabling plugin and switching the theme to default twenty series and check if you can figure out if its any plugin or your active creating duplicate images.

    Unfortunately, WP-Optimize free version doesn’t give this feature, but the WP-Optimize Premium version gives this feature to delete unused images in Admin Dashboard > WP-Optimize > Images > Unused images and sizes.
