Hi. Are there any known circumstances when duplicate emails are sent? I found that duplicate emails were sent after registration. A problem with that was an entirely new password was generated in email two.

Admittedly I was using “WP Approve User” plugin in combination with WP User Manager. And what happens is that the original email sent by WPUM was sent a second time after clicking approve using the other plugin.

I suspect this was a plugin conflict but I did want to ask if there is any possibility for some other explanation.

    Thank you.

    Hi @ms416 ,

Good day and thanks for writing in! It’s possible that the other plugin you are using is generating another data/password for the user. Could you please try to deactivate it and see if the email will be sent properly and only once?

The answer is yes, if I do not use the third party admin approval then only one copy of the “thanks for registering” email is sent.

It so happens that this double email is sent when also using two other important tools: WP Mail SMTP and Microsoft 365 email. The duplicate appears not to be sent when only using WordPress mail function.

Obviously there is a conflict and the solution is to buy the manual approval / verification from WPUM. But I can’t pay $149 USD / year for the starter. It’s too expensive.

    Thank you.

Hey @ms416 you can disable the new user registration email sent by WP User Manager with this code snippet – https://gist.github.com/wp-user-manager/ccdcabcba14d33ed037edd749baca77b
