On individual posts on superalzy.com I’ve got two comment forms. How do I get rid of the bottom one? I’m using theme Atahualpa 3.4.6 by BytesForAll if that’s helpful.

You could try deactivating the CommentLuv plugin.

Have you created your own template for single.php? Out of the box Atahualpa uses index.php only but you can create your own archive.php, single.php, page.php, etc. If you are using your own template for single posts, check for a file called single.php and see what code is in it.

    I want the commentluv plugin.

I haven’t created anything within the theme. I’m not that advanced yet. I don’t have a single.php but I do have a comments.php and a legacy.comments.php. Does it have anything to do with having 2 comment phps?

    I appreciate the help!

You should try deactivating the plugin like esmi said. See what happens. If the problem goes away then you know that the plugin is causing the problem, and you should probably no longer use it.

I deactivated the plugin and there are still two comment forms.

Try deactivating all plugins and if the problem goes away, reactivate them one at a time to see if one of them causes it. If the problem persists with all plugins deactivated, try changing to the Default theme. If it goes away after that, you know it’s the theme. Do you have the latest version of Atahualpa? I know it’s been updated a couple of times in the past year or so.

I just downloaded the theme a week or so ago. I’m quite new at this. I’ll try deactivating the plugins and see if I can find the issue.

When you log into your dashboard, it will say:

    Theme Atahualpa

    Click the word Atahualpa

On the next screen it will tell you which version of Atahualpa you are running and whether or not an upgrade is available.

You can also get to this page by clicking Appearance > Themes

I’m running Atahualpa 3.4.6 and it must be the theme. I deactivated all the plugins and none of them had any effect. I switched to default theme and only had one comment box like I’m supposed to.

There’s no upgrade right now for the Atahualpa theme…is there something I can change within the files to fix it? I really like this theme and would like to keep it if I can.

I have two sites running Atahualpa 3.4.5 and neither has that problem. I could send it to you as a zip file if it’s not available on the web. Maybe I’ll hold off on upgrading…

It’s definitely the theme. I turned comments on for pages and they’re doubled too. I found 3.4.5 on the creator’s site. Will it be compatible with the current version of WP?

Have you asked on the BFA (Bytes For All) Forum?

    Jonas Grumby

    (@ss_minnow)

You can definitely run 3.4.5 w/ the latest version of WP.

    Thread Starter superalzy

    (@superalzy)

I’m asking on the BFA forum now. If that’s no help, I’ll switch to version 3.4.5. Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it.

    Jonas Grumby

    (@ss_minnow)

Try it and if 3.4.5 fixes it, you can report it to BFA as a bug.
