Hi Daan,

I have an issue with Monsterinsights Pro. It doesn’t work. I use dual tracking and wanted to have it locally and files renamed. However…
1. If I use in MI dual tracking and set to save the gtag.js locally, then it works BUT it loads directly just from MI, your plugin does not rename it. It loads:

Your renamed files are not loaded at all. We have gtag.js in your settings, v4 is the same. And we run the compatibility mode.

Checking the setup with Tag assistant, it works.

But in the second scenario using tag assistant, we can see that only Universal analytics sends the data but for GA4 there are no data being sent.

So right now I have no idea how to make it work together with MI and to have all the files renamed and saved locally and to have it working and sending data to both Google analytics…

EDIT: Hm, I am checking it also in GA4 directly watching real-time and it seems to be working and I see myself browsing the site. But… Why tag manager cannot find the data, is it because it’s renamed? Is it really working well using MI and CAOS together? Should I use V4 or not, I’m not sure if that’s better or MI is using V4 API, you said in some faq that it’s not. But I’m not sure here…

Hi Karel,

So, your 2nd setup is the correct setup to make MI work with CAOS in Compatibility Mode.

You just need to make sure that Dual Tracking is enabled in both plugins.

When you enter your GAv3 tracking ID (starting with UA-) in CAOS, a checkbox will appear, called “Enable Dual Tracking”. Once checked, another option will appear, called Measurement ID. Which is where you should enter your GAv4 Measurement ID (Starting with G-)

Alright, I just discovered another issue. Stealth mode is working fine for UA but not for GA4. For GA4 my visits using Adblock are not counted… Will contact you via the form.
