• I’m starting up a project, and before I get too far into it, I want to know what my limitations are going to be.

Basically, I’m going to have two blogs- one is an online webcomic (probably will use ComicPress), and the other will be an illustrative blog. I want to use an entirely different theme for both, but don’t know if this is possible. To add to the complexity, I’d like to have a homepage with links to both ‘sites’. There are certain elements (such as the header) I want to remain throughout all page views, and I’d also like to have the main ‘static’ page actually have some blog content (a preview of sorts).

Is all of this way past the scope of WordPress?

  • I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for, but if you’re trying to get two different looking sites out of one wordpress install (which i’m thinking about doing) then this might help:

I’m actually not *sure* if that’s what I need… I tried to use it, but if it’s supposed to do what I *think* I want it to do… then, no…

Basically, I want my website to get to a page with two links. Link #1 will send you to one blog, and link #2 will send you to another one. Both blogs will use totally different themes (Let’s say blog #1 will use ComicPress and blog #2 will use the WordPress default). The main page (when you first get to the site) will have excerpts from blog #1 and blog #2 on it.

Basically, what I’m trying to do is this:

When you go to the website (en-whee.com), you’ll get this:
    https://en-whee.com/homepage.jpg

Click the “EN” section, and you’ll get:
    https://en-whee.com/EnPage.jpg

    Click “Whee”… and you get:
    https://en-whee.com/Whee%20page.jpg

    …and that’s about it.

Did you ever get a solution on this? I’m trying to do the exact same thing – same blog two templates linked from a home page?

Nope… never got a working solution. My guess is that it’s beyond WordPress’ abilities.
