Much like an insolated case some time ago, the dry run works for me – finding over 100 cases, but an error occurs every time I remove the tick from dry run. I’ve reduced the max file size as far as 500, and disabled all other plugins.

Could it be a DB permission issue?

Increasing max memory in the wp-config file also did not help.

In the end, I had to get support from the DB administrators who concluded that Better Search Replace software has at least one bug in it. They were able to change the references after DB export, before DB import, and now the site is working fine. I will be looking for a more reliable solution than Better Search Replace in future.

Awesome to see you talking to yourself here on a support forum. Plugin creators nowhere to be found.
