dropping google analytics cookies

    I connected the script and google analytics ID to the plugin settings but the GA cookies don’t seem to be dropped when I change the consent settings in my cookie banner options. I’ve tried refreshing the page, closing the browser and opening up a new browser window because I read that it takes effect on user’s next visit. Still the cookies remain tracked. What am I missing here?
