Dropped spaces before hyperlinks

Hi, guys-

I’m almost certain this problem has nothing to do with the theme I’m running (https://www.mhthemes.com/themes/mh/magazine/ MH Magazine at the moment). To get specific, I seem to be having a problem with hyperlinks somehow wiping the space that immediately precedes them out of existence, resulting in the hyperlinked text and the word preceding it looking like a single run-on wordlike this.

Click that link and you’ll see a good example right below the article’s first image. The links in the first few paragraphs are problem-free because I slotted in an extra leading space, so I CAN fix the problem by doing that, but… well, it seems like I shouldn’t have to.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
