Dropdown Sort By

Hello,
I have a wordpress test site and using Advanced Custom Fields I created a date field release_date. Im using Pictorico theme and in front page when hovering the post it displays post date and title, I want it to display the year of custom field created after title, example:
Fallout 4 (Year) “Fallout 4 (2015)”.
I also want to display a dropdown menu somewhere in the front page, and sort posts by:
Release date – release_date
Post date – date of the post
Name – Name of the post
And if its possible Ascending and Descending
I would like the dropdown to be after Search Box.
Im new in this and I would also appreaciate if you tell me what exactly to do.
