Dropdown navigation on custom menu stopped working

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I only have one active plugin on this site – for spell check etc. Deactivating it didn’t work. I did just delete the entire custom menu and created a new one. When I did that, the menu links now appear down the left side over my home page text and are no longer listed across the top where the navigation was before. The issue before was only the top level links were there and none of the drop downs. I think I made it worse…

Ok, I fixed the left menu problem by re-adding the custom menu widget to the sidebar. Now I am back to my original problem. The top level links work in the navigation across the top, but non of the drop down navigation is there.

do you know if there is a navigation plugin for the green business template that might have been deleted I need to install for this to work again?

You can see that there are arrows where the sub-links normally show up, but they just stopped.

I’m sorry but I’m pretty sure that there’s a javascript or jQuery issue in your theme. I can only suggest that you try using another theme.

I have the same problem with the custom menu and I’m using a child theme of twenty eleven. Help?
