Dropdown menu on hover

Hello,

In my theme im using a dropdown menu. The menu only shows up by clicking the top item in the menu. I can’t go to the top item because this is only showing the dropdown menu.
How can is show the dropdown menu by hovering a top item? By clicking the menu a new page must open, by hovering the dropdown is showing up.
