Since GT translate version 3 , “widget code” doesn’t seem to exist anymore. It allowed us to get the dropdown? menu (list of all available languages) in my own language (French)

With GT translate version 3, we get all languages displayed in French in the backend but they still display in English in the frontend.

You can see that here (2nd column , at the bottom : “Traduire”) : https://test.brigitte-coppin.fr

Could you please advise how to get the list of languages in the dropdown menu displayed in French?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi,

I would not recommend that. You better use “Native language names” option instead.

If you really have to have the list in French, you can modify wp-content/plugins/gtranslate/js/dropdown.js and change lang_array_english variable to last the names in French.

    Thanks! ??

Thanks for your reply. I should have explained that I tried these 2 before I wrote to you.

I tried to ticked the ‘Native language names’ box but nothing happened, then I tried to change the lang_array_english variable, but this also didn’t work

Just in case you need this information: we are working with WordPress 6.2, the theme is Customify child and GT translate version is 3.0.2

I hope you can help me solve this issue…. Thanks in advance for following up with me

Thanks for your support, clearing the cache actually worked with 1 browser (Google chrome). We are pleased that the native language names display in the dropdown menu ??

Interestingly, just so you know, even though I cleared the cache with Safari, Opera and firefox, the change doesn’t show on my computer….. that’s what confused me from the start…. I had to clear the cache of all websites before I got the native language names displayed….

Anyway, I am very grateful for your help!
