    Hello there!

Here is the issue: I made the element ‘directory-search’ of my page sticky with this plugin. This searching bar is sticky in all pages but when you scroll down the page, the drop-down menu of this directory doesn’t work. As you can see HERE.
I hope this is clear, otherwise just let me know. I need to solve this, I hope there is an easy solution. Any idea? :/

Thank you so much for your help and congrats for this plugin! ??

    Hello! Any comments? ??

    Hello!
I have the same problem, StickyMenu works great but it doesn’t display the submenu elements.
I’m actually on localhost, i use the New-lotus theme, and i use the MaxMegaMenu plug-in.
I try with and without Dynamic mode, but that doesn’t solve the problem.
    Thanks for help!

@lookinfoodadmin I’ve looked into this and it looks like there’s an incompatibility between the plugin and your inputs/dropdowns.

The way it works, is that the dropdowns appear when you click on an input field with a specific ID. The script behind this functionality checks the unique ID (and not the class).
Since my plugin basically duplicates the menu, this means that there will be TWO elements with the SAME ID, and the dropdown functionality may trip over that.

In order for me to test it properly, I might need to try it myself on my own test server. What plugin do you use for those inputs/dropdowns?

@fioulz: please create a new thread on this forum, as your setup is different from the original poster’s setup so the cause of the problem is probably different.

Thank you for your feedback Mark!! Not easy then, right? ??

The thing is that I don’t use any specific plugin for that. This is part of my theme BusinessFinder The ID I use to make this element sticky is #search-directory but I also tried with many other ID/class and nothing happened :/

Maybe it’s easier if I give you some kind of access to my site so that you can try from this side…? I don’t know… I really need this to work out :/ . Please let me know if you need any more information in order to solve this.

Thank you very very much for your help!

    Jesús.

I prefer not to access anyone’s site without some sort of agreement in place — this is not necesarily a money issue or to protect me, but rather a liability one to protect you. I wouldn’t want to accidentally break someone’s site when I’m trying to change a few things here and there. Hope you understand.

Unfortunately, the Business Finder theme is a paid theme, so I can’t really set up a test environment to see if there’s a way to get around it.

I understand what the problem is (like I wrote above — it’s an incompatibility issue between the way the menu normally works, and my plugin), and it will happen with every ID you choose that relates to that Search Directory menu. The fix should probably be applied to some code related to the way the search directory works, not in the plugin.

Please note that I’m not trying to say “it’s a problem with the theme, not with my plugin” (it’s not really a bug with either, they just use different ways that won’t work together), but I am saying that a code fix should be applied somewhere in the theme, not the plugin.

Hope that makes sense. I hate to not be able to provide a fix, but without my own copy of the theme I can’t do much.
I hate it even more to say that maybe there are some other sticky header plugins that use different methods, that will with your theme, so it might be worth looking into that.

    Hi Mark!

Thank you so much for your explanation, very kind of you! I followed your advise and I found this other plugin which works perfectly with my theme. Sorry cos I had to cancel yours, but good for me! ?? Just for your information, the plugin is called MY STICKY MENU.

Thank you very much for your time and help!
    :)))
