• I recently installed this plugin and found it very easy to connect to our organization’s PayPal account. I made a button and put the shortcode on a “donate” page, then tested it out by donating $1 – and it worked perfectly!

The dropdown menu option for amounts seems like a useful feature, so I tried that out. Unfortunately, clicking the donate button after choosing a dropdown amount opens up the PayPal page exactly as before, with a displayed amount of $0.

Am I doing something wrong? It seems as though the value from the menu choice is not being passed from the plugin to PayPal.

Thanks for any help! I hope I’m just doing something dumb (or failing to do something simple).

To clarify, the “amount” you have selected in the dropdown is always zero, and paypal is not updating? Can you provide a screenshot of the dropdown settings in your admin dashboard?

Not exactly. The dropdown amounts are NEVER zero because that’s not an option, but the PayPal landing page that opens once you select a dropdown amount and press the “donate” button always has zero. In other words, the amounts from the dropdown are not getting passed to the PayPal landing page.

I don’t know how to post screenshots here (the image option requires a URL so I can’t just paste in something on my computer), but if you don’t mind just checking out the donate function itself our not-yet-linked page is https:sfbayffrf.org/donate

    Thanks for any help!

Please try switching to the default WordPress theme and check if the error persists. Also, please disable any optimizer / cache / page speed plugins and see if the issue persists.

If both of those steps do not resolve the issue, please visit https://wpplugin.org/contact/ and open a support ticket. Please include a link to this thread so that we can investigate further.

We don’t have any cache / optimizer plugins, and I’m not sure what you mean by “default WordPress theme.” Is there such a thing? And if there were, would that mean we couldn’t use the theme we have (Zakra)? I’m OK with trying a different theme, but is there a way to know which ones work correctly with the donate plugin?

    Again, thanks for any help!

Unfortunately as there are thousands of WordPress themes, we can’t test every one. We’ve tested our plugin with the default themes that ship with WordPress:

Can you try testing with one of those themes? This will help us narrow down if it’s a theme conflict or plugin conflict.

Thanks for trying to help, Collin. I just made my own button and linked it to our PayPal landing page, which has radio buttons. That will work OK for us, so we won’t really need the plugin. I appreciate your effort!
