Dropbox API: cURL error 28: Operation timed out

A few of my sites are showing an error like this one:
[20-Dec-2021 13:19:01] /home/customer/www/{website}/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/src/Http/Client/WpHttpClient.php: Dropbox API: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes receive
It only seems to have happened in the past week. I have reauthenticated my Dropbox connection, changed maximum tries to 20 but it makes no difference.
Is there another setting I need to change?
