• I posted my first blog article and it became also available on mastodon, so yeah, but it now says @user@wwww.blog.org.
I understand that this is because i operate https://www.blog.org, but this is an alias of blog.org and i rather have @user@blog.org as a handle.

Is there a way around having to rename the whole site to get rid of the www-part of our handle? Thanks Matt!

Great! I’m new to activitypub, what would be the ETA?

We are currently reviewing the big Pull Request https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-activitypub/pull/342 that makes the whole blog an ActivityPub “user”. And this will be the main requirement for the next release. I hope to be able to release a new version within the next maybe two weeks.

This may be a dumb question, but I would like to do the same thing as the OP, and I’m assuming the new 1.0 release that I upgraded to has that option, but I can’t find any way to remove the www from my handle. The plugin settings say to edit my profile to “customize username”, but that’s obviously only for the part of the handle that comes before the URL.

you can simply drop the www from the identifier and it will also work!

You mean at the general site settings? Unfortunately, this is not an option as it will change the entire url layout and create errors in other places.

In short it seems to be s bit far fetched to have to change your domain url in order to drop the world wide web-prefix from your website for a mastodon handle?

    Plugin Author Matthias Pfefferle

    (@pfefferle)

No, I meant that you can use the identifier simply without the www, even if the settings show them with www.

    But the domain is hardcoded?

I am not sure we are talking about the same thing ??

It doesn’t matter if the UI shows the www. in the identifier, you can simply use it without!

    at “Change blog profiile’?

With the update, no posts appear anymore at mastodon, so im reluctant of changing the handle there, confusing things even further :/

You do not have to change anything, you can simply share the identifier without www. or are you using the blocks/widgets?

OK, this is something completely different. Can you share your blog URL and a profile page? Then I can have a look!

There seem to be some glitches with the migration of the old followers-system to the new one, so that posts during the migration process will not be published on the fediverse.

We are still investigation why this happens.

    Sorry about that ??

It was a really big re-work, to be more flexible in the future.

We will release some updates over next few weeks.

    Hello,

Like the tread starter, I operate a blog whose domain is of the form https://www.example.com.

I’d like to use the “Follow me” block, but the handle it displays is [email protected].

I would prefer it to be [email protected] (without the www). Is it possible ?

    Thanks in advance!
