drop up menu instead of drop down?

I’m using the responsive theme as a framework for a really customized site. With that, the client wants the menu bar fixed along the bottom of the page. Done that, no problem. However, the <li> menu items still drop down and I need them to “drop up.” Can anyone point me to which menu class I need to modify in the css? I’m trial and erroring my way so far with no luck.
