Drop down menubar menu disappears behind top photo in slideshow

At this rate you’re going to start running in the other direction whenever you see my username…
Okay, I thought everything was finally working perfectly, but I discovered that when you load a page like the one below:
https://www.thewhitedoorvintagerentals.com/rental-inventory/seating/mary-margaret/
… and then hover over the “Rental Inventory” link in the menu to activate the drop down submenu, that submenu disappears behind the photo of the settee in the gallery slideshow.
HOWEVER, if you use any of the three available methods to advance to the next slide, the submenu now behaves properly. This one’s a deal-breaker if it can’t be solved, but it seems like there should be some way to get the initial “default” slide to act the same way as the subsequent slides… I simply don’t have enough knowledge of how this stuff works to even know where to go looking.
(I have tested this in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on a Macbook running OSX 10.6.8, and it behaves identically in all three browsers, btw.)
