Drop Down Menu Options – pull from something else

Great plugin! A cornerstone to WordPress self-hosted sites.
Was wondering if there is a way to populate a drop down menu’s options from another place (for example custom field, or text block)?
I have a drop down menu with many options that is used several times over and over on a form (20 times). I was hoping to have a central place I can edit the option list so if I need to edit the list I can do it in one place and not need to edit each field separately. I was thinking a custom field possibly or a custom shortcode inside the field shortcode.
Just wondering if there are any options, before I go another route.
