• Hello,

I can’t seem to get the drop down menus on my top navigation to work. They had been working (for years), but we were hacked a few weeks ago and now they won’t work. The parent-child menu set-up appears to be correct. I tried to create a new custom menu, but the drop downs still didn’t work. I also deactivated plugins, but that wasn’t useful either.

On a related note, we have an image slide built into the website too on the homepage, and that has also disappeared after the hack. All of the information for the slider is still accurate in the “Theme” menu and the “disable slider” box isn’t checked.

    The web address is https://www.arvayeventdesign.com

Hopefully someone can help me! I’m not tech-savvy and my web consultant hasn’t done anything about this for 2 weeks, so I’m trying to fix it myself.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

i see that you have a js error which may be the cause. You can disable your plugins and see or update your plugins + themes +WP if they are not updated !

Thanks for the advice. I disabled all plugins but that didn’t work.

I did install a new theme, and the menus do display correctly there. Is there a “quick” way to install a new theme and not have to recreate the layout of my homepage, etc? The “limon” theme that my website was adapted from doesn’t appear to have an updated version that I could just install and use.

as far as i can see the js is coming from a slideshow code, so you may need to update that and get your site to work.

Ok, thanks a lot. I’ll give that a try!

Still no luck. Maybe it’s because I’m pretty clueless about all of this. I applied a few more themes, and the drop down works perfectly. I removed some code regarding the slider and disabled all plugins, but no luck that way either.

    This is totally frustrating.

The error is in your global.js file.Possible solutions are explained here

the problem is that your theme is not free to download and make a better suggestion to solve this. You can contact the authors of course.
