On the backend widget settings , an option is added so that you can choose the view format as dropdown or list view.

Ok, great. Could you perhaps point me to the correct place of the code for that option, and what to change? I’m not very familiar with editing the backend.

You dont need to change anything in the code. Login to backend, Click widgets and you can see list of widgets, After activating the plugin our widget will appear here drag and drop in the sidebar where you need this, A list of settings will be available for you. From this will be able to change the view settings.

    Hi

I must be missing something then, because after dragging the widget to the sidebar, the only selectable options are:

    Title
    Choose category
    Limit
    Display parent?
    Display empty categories?
Display number of posts near categories?
    Custom variations

Are you saying there should be one more option here with ‘view settings’?

Yes, Please download the fresh copy of this plugin, I have made the change and updated, Install this plugin you will find the option

    Brilliant! Works perfect, thank you.

This is just a suggestion. It would be nice if the default row (when drop down) would be the parent category’s name, rather than the first child category’s name. And to skip the ‘view’ button, and make it go straight to whatever category you select.

Anyway, thanks for helping out! /Simon
