Driving Me Crazy and I Know the Answer's Simple

  • I have an active data base that I was using for B@ Evolution and I want to switch to Word Press. I created the wp-config.php file and have triple checked the database name, the user name, the password and the fact that it’s all on localhost. Then I get this message:

    Error establishing a database connection
    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    Are you sure that the database server is running?

    The database is not down and was functioning, still is actually, but I can’t access it. Any ideas?

    I do think you will be able to use the B@ Evolution database with wordpress

    Sorry, I meant b2 evolution, but why not? They are formatted nearly identical.
